1. THURSDAY NOON VIGIL FOR PEACE

Our weekly noon vigils are on Thursdays. We vigil for peace in front of the Rolla Post Office THIS THURSDAY, May 6, (and all subsequent Thursdays until peace is established) from Noon to 1:00 PM. Please try to join us. The temperature is predicted to be in the low to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies. If you do not feel comfortable standing with us in front of the Post Office, please consider driving by and showing your support for our message by honking your horn and flashing a peace sign.

2. ON 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF NPT: WORLD STILL PLAGUED BY NUCLEAR WEAPONS

On March 5, 1970, the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) entered into force. Forty years later, the world is still plagued by weapons that could destroy the world many times over. The NPT is unique in that it requires mutual verifiable nuclear disarmament of all the great powers. Sadly, the great powers still choose to ignore their treaty obligations. Thousands of peace activists from all over the world converge on UN headquarters in New York City to demand that the world live up to its obligations and destroy these weapons, (click here).
