==================
1. THURSDAY NOON VIGIL FOR PEACE
Our weekly noon vigils are on Thursdays. We vigil for peace in front of the Rolla Post Office THIS THURSDAY, July 8, (and all subsequent Thursdays until peace is established) from Noon to 1:00 PM. Please try to join us. The temperature is predicted to be in the low 80s with rain likely. If you do not feel comfortable standing with us in front of the Post Office, please consider driving by and showing your support for our message by honking your horn and flashing a peace sign.
2. WAR BRINGS OPIUM ADDICTION TO AFGHAN CHILDREN
Studies show that opium addiction is on the rise in Afghanistan, effecting children as young as 14 months, (click here).
3. FAR MORE THREATS TO OUR OCEANS THAN BP
While BPs giant oil gusher in the gulf continues, (click here), there are far more threats to our oceans than BP. Check (here), and (here). Meanwhile latest analyses show we are on course for a 3.9 degrees C. temperature rise by the end of this century, almost double what is believed to be the maximum temperature rise sustainable before triggering a mass-extermination event, (click here). It is unlikely that we will do anything to address these environmental problems, if we continue to put our energies into war.
